Applied Herbalism: Assess, Identify, and Support Health with Plant Medicines

Sunday, April 13th from 10am - 3pm

This class explores how to apply herbal knowledge and plant medicines to people and conditions. Learn how to assess individual health needs, identify the right plant medicines, and provide effective herbal support for optimal well-being. This single day workshop will guide you through the principles of herbal assessment, matching herbs to people and conditions, and practical ways to incorporate plant-based healing into daily life.

In this class Leslie will be assisting volunteer clients seeking herbal support for their health concerns in front of the class. She will demonstrate the process of supporting people’s health goals with plants, including the process of intake, how to ask questions and assess what herbs could be supportive. Class will also include nuances of formulation and dosage for health support.

Instructor
The course is led by Leslie Lekos, director of Wildroot Botanicals.

Locations
We will be meeting at the Wildroot Botanicals Gardens.

Being Prepared for the Weather
We will be outside at our harvesting sites rain or shine.  It is important to always come to class prepared to be outside.  Good walking shoes are important as well as layers and rain gear for cold weather months.  Sunblock and hats are important for summer months.  It can also be useful to bring something to sit on and a water bottle for the day.

Lodging for Out of Town Guests
Several of our students come from out of town. We are located between Bellingham and Burlington/Mount Vernon so staying in either location is where students often choose to stay.

Cost
$65 for the day.

Adverse Conditions
Please note that if there are events beyond our control, such as illness, forest fire smoke, or extreme weather that compromise student safety then the school may reschedule a class to another date.
